Script (working version)

Giada(25) is owner and head chef of Chateau Seven, a small restaurant secluded in the slums. the restaurant is completely deteriorated, the wood planks in the restaurant are covered in splinters. Light from outside can be seen spilling into the restaurant through the narrow cracks.

Giada is leaning against the bar table with her head slumped in her hands.

Across the table is a chipped, beat up old piggy bank.

She lifts it up and starts shaking it apathetically.

It sounds like there's only 2 or 3 coins. Frustrated, she tosses the piggy bank across the table.

A look of contempt is written across her face. Suddenly, she hears a ringing noise from the front door opening.

Caught by surprise, she immediately ducks under the bar to grab a menu and silverware for her new customer.

From behind the bar table, she hears footsteps getting closer and closer. They seem to be slow and methodical.

The footsteps stop, and she peers over the bar table to see who it is. She sees no one.

Suddenly, she hears a large grumbling noise and the sound of a man clearing his throat.

Confused, she leans over the bar table and sees the king, standing with an impatient look on his face.

Shocked, she jumps back.

The king hoists himself up onto a chair and has an annoyed look on his face.

She laughs nervously, and holds out a menu for the king.

As she's walking away, the king holds out his hand indicating for her to stop.,

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a scroll. He unravels the scroll and points to it. It's a picture of a stag beetle. It also says, "Chateau Seven Specialty!"

She instantly lights up and happily he runs into the kitchen.

Inside, she imagines the king giving her bags of money and helping her renovate the restaurant.

Happily, she starts picking out a few spices and throwing them into a large pot. She then starts cutting some vegetables and throws them into the pot. Satisfied, she grabs a ladle and pours a green oozy sauce over a plate with a stag beetle. She garnishes it with a parsley sprig.

She brings it out to the king, who is sitting with a napkin tucked into his shirt. A fork and knife in each hand.

Skeptically, he looks down at the beetle; its nothing like the picture on the scroll. He then looks at her, then back to his stomach, which growls loudly.

Reluctantly, he takes his fork, and cuts into the beetle. A pink creamy sauce oozes out.

The king squints his eyes, plugs his nose and takes a bite.

Instantly, his nostrils flare, his pupils dilate, and he drops his fork. His hands cover his mouth, and he stares at the chef for a brief second.

He then dashes out of the restaurant, without even saying a word to the chef.

The chef, taken aback by the king's impulsive action, slowly realizes that her food must of somehow caused the king to be sick and vomit.

She takes her toque off and slams her forehead against the wall.

Suddenly, the bell by the front door rings again.

Giada turns around, this time though, she sees the king with 2 of his loyal knights by his side.

She looks both frightened and confused.

As the king and the knights reach behind their back, she clenches her eyes shut and starts backing into corner.

The king and the knights however, revel that they were holding a paint bucket, brush, hammer, nails, and forks.

Giada has a surprise but relieved grin on her face.

A back shot of Giada in the kitchen preparing her infamous beetle dish.

Camera pulls out to reveal the entire place renovated and the king and his fellow knights all dining there.
